Plant Overview
This small rhizomatous evergreen to deciduous fern is erect and spreading and forms a dense rounded clump. It has tufted divided fronds with light green segments and the new growth is a delicate pink colour. The fertile fronds from summer to autumn.

Cultural Uses Propagation
The Rough Maidenhair is grown for its foliage and clumping habit. It is used in the understorey of rainforests or grown around a water features for a tropical effect. It is also grown in pots or hanging baskets that are placed in a shade house.
Place spores on sterilised sphagnum moss, peat moss, bricks or terracotta pot base then cover with glass and keep moist. 4 to 6 weeks until prothalli appears. True fronds appear between 6 - 12 months after sowing.
