Plant Overview
This perennial is commonly grown as an annual and forms a rounded tufted habit. It has dark green lobed leaves and arise from a crown. The red, orange, yellow and pink cup-shaped flowers appear solitary above the foliage from late autumn to early spring.

Cultural Uses Propagation
The Iceland Poppy is grown for its flowers and is planted in small or cottage gardens along perennial borders. It is also used in bedding displays for large gardens or is planted in patio pots or tubs.
Sow fresh seed during late summer to autumn in flats or boxes, and prick out when 10 mm to 40 mm (1 5/8 in) tall. It takes 4 months to flowering from sowing and when planting leave crowns clear of the soil.
